Portuguese international Edgar Ie has joined Istanbul side Basaksehir FK

Portuguese international Edgar Ie (full name: Edgar Miguel Ie) has joined Istanbul side Basaksehir FK.

Contract is signed on year and half, till the summer 2024.

Born 28 years ago in Bissau (Guinea-Bissau), Edgar Ie plays as central defender but can cover right back position as well.

Till recent he was a member of Turkish team Trabzonspor and with league 17 caps, 02 goal assists and 1,525 minutes spent on pitch, contributed in their champions 2021-22 "Super Lig" title (seventh in the club history).

Also in this season he has achieved 04 caps in UEFA Champions league qualification games.

Season 2020-21, also in Trabzon shirt he has played on very high level, with 40 games, 02 goals scored, 01 goal assists and 3,444 minutes played.

Before Turkish club, he has wore jerseys of several European notable teams: Feyenoord Rotterdam, LOSC Lille, FC Nantes, CF Belenenses, Villarreal CF and FC Barcelona.

Edgar Ie is product of famous Portuguese academy Sporting Lisbon, for National youth teams (U17, U18, U19, U20 & U21) made in total 42 games with 05 goals scored. For Portugal "A" team he has 01 cap (friendly game Portugal vs Saudi Arabia 3:0, played on November 2017), also 01 match played for National "B" squad.

From the trophies, with above mentioned champions 2021-22 title with Trabzonspor he has also won in 2019-20 "Turkiye Kupasi" and 2020-21 Turkey "Super Cup". Edgar Ie was a member of FC Barcelona team which has won in 2014-15 Spanish "La Liga" and "Copa del Rey".
